Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your role on the construction site?

My name is Fabien Belon. I am the construction manager for the Diamant residential complex (Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe) and also head the design office and project management firm ED Caraïbes. In this role, I am primarily involved in the construction phase, from site preparation through to completion.

Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your role on the construction site?

The main challenge lies in the topography of the site. It is not flat and features several levels, which has required us to adapt the construction to the natural slope. This calls for careful consideration from the design phase onward to ensure the technical feasibility and quality of the final project.

What are the technical specifics of a construction project in Guadeloupe?

The first challenge lies in selecting the right companies: it is essential to work with reliable, competent, and committed partners. Next, we must take into account significant constraints related to the local environment, particularly seismic and hurricane-related standards.

How is your collaboration with Apromeos going?

This is our first collaboration, and it is going well. Communication with Mr. Peroumalnaik (AMO) is smooth, the project is progressing at a good pace, and the overall organization is satisfactory. The current market conditions have exacerbated the vulnerability of businesses. Supplier failures and supply chain pressures are now causing delays, which inevitably impact the project’s cash flow.

What is the current status of the project, and what are the next steps?

The construction project is reaching a key milestone with the completion of the structural work. We will soon move on to the weatherproofing phase (installation of windows and doors, and enclosure of the units). At the same time, we are finalizing the model unit, which will allow us to validate all material choices and specifications. This step is scheduled for May.

A few remaining lots are still available—don’t miss this opportunity to invest in Sainte-Anne.
